MotorHelix is finally going to release a supercar!

MotorHelix will launch 1:18 alloy full open, 1:64 alloy material, 1:18 resin material, 1:64 resin material Nilu27 car models, and the products have formal authorization. The project has now reached the gray model sample stage, and more gray model details will be shared later. Yxcarmodel will also continue to pay attention to follow-up information for fellow enthusiasts!

MotorHelix 1:18 scale Nilu27 gray model sample will be on display at the MotorHelix booth at the 2025 HEC China International Model Expo. Interested fans can come and watch it. Booth number: 3T10

Penned by former Koenigsegg, Lamborghini and Bugatti designer Sasha Selipanov, the Nilu27 is a romantic combination of the names of the brand's founder's daughters, Nica and Lucia, while the number 27 is in honor of the great F1 drivers Gilles Villeneuve and Jean Alesi.

In my opinion, a beautiful and pure hypercar needs to have a naturally aspirated engine, a manual transmission, 1,000 horsepower, gull-wing doors... And it just so happens that Nilu27 combines all these elements and designs - in the current era when 1,000 horsepower is becoming increasingly "cheap", such a work can even be said to be a reversal of the times. For past classics and successors like Nilu27, car fans can give more praise than they deserve.

Beauty is a very personal thing. But for purity, the Nilu27 has no turbo, no hybrid system, no active aerodynamic components, no dual-clutch transmission, no driving mode selection, no touch screen, and even no driver assistance devices! The few configurations on the car that show the technology of the times are the cameras and displays that replace the rearview mirrors, and if you want to count, there is also a car name that sounds like a Call of Duty player ID.

Before we learn more about Nilu27, let’s first meet the founder and CEO of the Nilu brand. Like all successful professionals, Sasha Selipanov’s fascination with cars since childhood, coupled with his rebellious and non-conformist character, has led to his brilliant design career of more than 20 years.

As for being evaluated as "brilliant"?

In Sasha Selipanov's resume, it is written that he has worked in "small workshops" such as Bugatti, Koenigsegg, and Lamborghini. His past works include Lamborghini Huracan, Bugatti Chiron, Bugatti Vision GT, Koenigsegg CC850, Koenigsegg Gemera... They are all small-batch models that are "well-received but not popular".

When looking at a car, look at its shape first. Regarding the exterior design of Nilu27, Sasha Selipanov said that part of its inspiration came from Italian racing cars in the 1960s and 1970s, and part of its inspiration came from the essence of German Bauhaus, avant-garde metal music and Lamborghini Countach. The body is smooth and well-defined, modern and nostalgic, which is the style that Nilu27 pursues and wants to show.

In terms of power, the Nilu27 is equipped with a 6.5L V12 naturally aspirated engine built by Hartley Engines. It is worth mentioning that this is a company headquartered in New Zealand and was founded by Nelson Hartley, the brother of current WEC driver and former F1 driver Brendon Hartley. It is said that the red line of this engine is 11000 rpm, and it can burst out 1070HP and 634 lb-ft at 7000rpm.

Even more romantic, or "unfashionable", is the CIMA 7-speed manual gearbox that pairs the V12 with the car! Although the Nilu27 has not yet been tested to its limits, it is speculated that the vehicle's top speed will exceed 250mph and the acceleration time from 0 to 100 kilometers will be less than 3 seconds. If these parameters can be achieved, the Nilu27 will be the fastest naturally aspirated production car after the McLaren F1 - without hybrid technology.

As the engine supplier, Nelson Harley gave the following comment: "We don't provide an OEM engine, but a customized, aggressive and exotic engine... We share Sasha's wish, that is, we hope that the owner will break into a cold sweat every time he starts the Nilu27!"

The whole thing does not seem to be a natural progression of the contemporary automotive entrepreneurship trend. We can speculate on Sasha Selipanov's feelings when describing the prospects of Nilu27 - as an industry insider, he saw the industry's transition to electrification and digitalization, but his impulse as an automotive aesthetician was not satisfied - if he made an electric sports car, it would be a shame to what he had done in the past, and he would not be able to explain to his legendary former bosses in the industry.

By the way, Sasha Selipanov was the head of design at Koenigsegg Automotive and played a leading role in the design of the Koenigsegg Gemera and Koenigsegg CC850. So much so that if you look closely at the details of the Nilu27, you can still see some Koenigsegg influences.

Double wishbone and push rod suspension, carbon fiber monocoque with aluminum alloy tubular subframe are standard configurations of Nilu27 and all extreme supercars. But what is different is that the body panels of Nilu27 are more integrated, tight and smooth. The exposed machinery, frame and exhaust are not only for eye-catching, but also for real cooling.

It is worth mentioning that the V12 engine equipped by Nilu27 has an unusual 80-degree cylinder angle, which makes the engine wider. In order to make better use of the cabin volume, Nilu27 flipped the intake and exhaust positions, so that 12 nickel alloy exhaust manifolds snake out of the hole from the top and finally merge into a three-outlet tail throat that looks like the tail nozzle of a space shuttle. Sasha Selipanov called this part the "snake hole", which is also my personal favorite design.

So I personally think that the rear of the Nilu27 is the best design of the whole car. It not only combines the exotic sports car style, but also has a very strong mechanical violent aesthetics! The exaggerated tire data of 325 width is like ready to lift a layer of asphalt at any time! Everything you see is completely centered around "original, old-fashioned, and serious", which is the most lacking quality in the current automotive design field.

Sasha Selipanov plans to produce 54 road-legal Nilu27 supercars, but before that, 15 track-only models will be produced, which are the ones shown in the pictures in this article. So, the final question is, do you think the world should still have pure supercars now?

How can we not make models of such a wonderful subject? !

MotorHelix has confirmed the 1:18 / 1:64 alloy & resin material models of the Nilu27 model, of which 1:18 is the alloy full open process setting. The project has now passed the "New Folder" stage! MotorHelix released the actual photos of the 1:18 scale gray model sample.

Judging from the gray model sample picture, the model has completed the internal structure details including the engine compartment, and the beautiful "snake hole" exhaust system structure of the real car is fully presented. Let us look forward to the effect of the decorative plate sample! This gray model will appear at the MotorHelix booth at the 2025 HEC China International Model Expo. Interested enthusiasts can come and watch it. Booth number: 3T10

It is worth mentioning that MotorHelix has released two scales, 1:18 and 1:64, and a total of four new products in alloy/resin. Whether you like the full-open play experience of alloy materials or prefer the moist texture of resin materials, I believe that MotorHelix, which focuses on both alloy and resin, can produce satisfactory works. However, MotorHelix has not yet given a complete color scheme for the Nilu27 project. The following pictures are some official renderings for reference only.
